Does anyone remember the particulars of Morrison tossing a TV at the window of mixing booth, where one producer or the other was sitting and Jimbo had an issue with the baseball game that was on a portable TV???

It's that time of year again!!!

Far as I recall, he found the Series an interruption to the creative process and chucked the portable TV while in the studio. Botnick still has the TV set.

If you want to stay home and watch the Series, don't book studio time. Thank you.

Botnick talks about this incident on the Classic Albums DVD. He holds up the actual TV and says that it still works. I seem to recall him saying in an interview years ago that this incident was greatly exaggerated.

The ultimate exaggeration of this incident was Stone's version in which he has Jim throwing the TV at Ray's head and barely missing it.

Feeding frenzy time here in NY...... and I personally know at least one person who will be throwing the TV if the Yankees don't take the series. No, it's not me.. but I will be one of the people ducking :-)

I thought I read somewhere, btw, that the tv throwing incident with Morrison never really happened...?

how could the tv be in such good condition, did Botnick somehow have it repaired in pristine condition. There is a picture of jim leaning on a tv set in I think the american prayer album cover and it makes me think of that tv throwing scene in the movie or wherever it was mentioned. Ray said it did happen when recording light my fire, oliver stone had it happen when they were trying to sell light my fire. Conflicting sources indeed.

I actually chucked a small portable television across a dressing room and it still continued to work.

I guess some things are just very well made. My daughter once ran over her cell phone with her _car_.. and it still worked!

That's right.....it was on Morrison's nickle!!!!
