Just wondering where anyone gets information about Jim's mom and how she felt,
living with the in-laws. And I wonder if they truly did "have to" live with the in-laws
instead of in housing on the base, or did the in-laws make the offer so that, with Steve
away, she wouldn't have to be a new mom alone.

Generally, grandparents adore grandkids, especially when they're little.

You know GG the only people that can truly answer this in any way shape or manner are Jim's siblings,I have to admit if either one of them Anne or Andy wrote a book I'd buy it straight away,no questions asked.

Back in the day military pay was absolutely miserable, even for officers. It probably was better for Clara, both money-wise and support-wise, to live with her in-laws.
