Dear Mr Densmore (or dear John if I can say that)
I'm a great Italian fan of  The Doors and I really appreciate your songs and your music. I have finished just now to read your biography "Riders on the storm"...translated in Italian finally! I was so impressed by your fluid writing and I was involved in reading page after page. Sometime the situations and the language were so ironic and I smiled; other times the descriptions about the facts were so vivid that I exclamated "Gosh, what damned age it has been! How could be fantastic to be there!" You have lived a wonderful and shocking adventure but I've had the sensation that you were aftaid of the experiences that you were leaving, is it true? Were you? Were those unbelievable, glorious  days, those "Strange Days" terrible? Were you scared about the fact that you didn't know where you were going? And most of all were you worried about the things that you could find "behind the doors"? I've got the idea that you are a deep and spiritual man and I really hope you've forgiven yourself and that you are quiet now about what happened to Jim (both your brothers). I know my English is not so fluent and correct but I hope you can read and understand this mail: I've written these words from the bottom of my hearth. I read in this Forum  you are going to publish a new book, is it true? I'm very interested in . Well I stop now and I send to you my best wishes for your successful career and for your life.
Love from an Italian fan
Daniela

Dear Daniela, Thanks for reading my 1st book.  Yes, I am "quiet" now (as you put it) in reference to losing my 2 brothers.  And yes, I have another book coming out this year.  It is about my struggle to presurve Jim's legacy.  john d.

Try reading John's book back-to-front. Start with the final chapter & work forwards from there.

Why do you suggest that? Is there a secret inside? Maybe I'll try!!!
P.S Have you read John's reply to my message? It's short but I'm so excited...Can you help me and say if the word I used "quiet" is wrong in that meaning? Thank you
Daniela

Hi,
I suggested reading the last chapters first, because I think the final chapters give some of the answers to your questions (that how it seems to me, at least)

The word 'Quiet'..hmmm... there can be two meanings or senses to the word.
-A literal meaning, like not talking about something.
-A metaphorical meaning, like emotionally calm.

Maybe John means it in both senses?

Dear John, thank you very much for your reply: I didn't think you would do it actually but I was wrong and so I'm really excited...! In the meanwhile I was reading your words I realized that maybe I've been not very polite asking you about some events of your life that are so private and I'm sorry for that. Anyway I appreciate your sincerity very much...Is the word "quiet"(as I put it) wrong in the meaning ? My English is not as good as I would like to express better my thougts. I'm going to buy the last DVD "Mr Mojo Risin" for the special event of the 40th anniversary of L.A Woman, do you agree with this work? Do you like it? Well I hope you could find a moment to read my message and reply again.
Looking forward for your new book
CIAO from your Italian fan
