Yes.. buy the book (Amazon has alot of them very reasonably priced).. and get the audio cassettes too if you can. There's nothing like actually listening to John read the book.. his voice inflections.. his laughter.. his frustration.. he even sings a little too.. lol

the movie is available on dvd.  The best morrison book is break on through byhjames riodrian and jerry rovinchy it is very factual on just about every aspect of morrison's life.

I have checled out your beatles website and think it is ok.  I have been a big beatles fan since 1986.

I have seen the movie but i don't like it. From my point of view, jim appears as a hallucinated and nearly as a sociopath out of control, pam is depicted as a pathetic and stupid drug addict and the rest of the characters are insipid. I admit that val kilmer's interpretation is good, but the script is a mess.
Despite my opinion, i recommend you to see it so you can judge for yourself smile.gif .

girl you are thinking like me  smile.gif
he was pretty  much shown as a negative person, and that is what i hate..
but we all know most of the things in the movie are not what really happen, so i dont worry about  that. somebody on the forum said before it was a Hollywood soap opera. amen to that.
but all in all the movie is not so bad..Kilmer did a good job, it is hard to play Jims role. i think nobody could do it better. the acting i mean.

ohmy.gif   Ahhhhh  'The Movie'...
When I found out a doors movie was in the works, I so looked forward to it.
Figuring Stone was a doors fan I expected a half decent portrayal of the band.  IMHO the casting of Val Kilmer
as Morrison saved this otherwise forgettable film.  I'll go with MH and tell you to see the movie and come away with your own opinion.  j

smile.gif   Lost......I had this book for years and never paid any attention to the picture on the cover.
When I  took it along to a doctors appointment my physician (who is somewhat familiar with the band)
said 'I didn't know Jim Morrison had a brother'.  It was only then that I really looked at the cover and
said 'dam, how did I miss that?'  j
